The only other record I know on Charles Knight’s Knite Life label apart from his own one is this obscurity from Joycelyn. As you can tell from the title its yet another “soul from Vietnam” story – one day we’ll be able to tell the whole story of that sub-genre I’m sure. Soldier In Saigon is a nicely plodding ballad with a fine horn led arrangement. Over this Joycelyn’s rather “little girl” tone lends more than a little pathos to the lyric.

Thanks to Bob Abrahamian who very kindly spotted my incipient dyslexia and corrected it.
