Some people really go for tracks that are almost totally spoken renditions, others can’t abide them. I’m usually not too impressed, but occasionally they hit home like this one. The backing track sounds just great and Hambric testifies like a country preacher in his soulful powerful baritone. This was recorded in New York, and Jimmy (or Jimmie - the 45 isn't quite sure which) surely must be related to the more famous Billy Hambric. His brother perhaps?
