Another unknown artist from the heart of Texas, Jackie Hunt seems to have had just this one disc. But what a beauty Security Of Love is. A blues ballad in the grand manner, full of lovely touches like the organ, low keyed guitar fills and restrained horns, over which Hunt is breathily and suitably grateful to his woman. Of course the whole things owes a debt to Bobby Bland, especially “I’ll Take Care Of You”, but that’s a recommendation not a criticism.
