Style Wooten’s Camaro was one of Memphis’ smaller labels, and its 45 are not too well known. But this one from the Fabulous Verbs is heavy enough to be featured here. Let Me Be The Man is a gloomy downbeat number full of atmosphere that is well laid out by the rhythm section and occasional horn bursts. The lead singer is suitably melancholy, only letting go on the bridge after which he is joined by a cooing female chorus. The label says "featuring Kenny Wiggins and L B Mosley" who also wrote the number, so I guess we should give them the applause.
