Five Towns
Judging by the telephone number on the disc this 45 – the only one by this group I believe – came from New York. Whoever the Five Towns were I’ll bet they sang gospel at some time or another as the silky harmonies and the impassioned lead on "It Isn't What You've Got" come straight from the church – check out the fire after the brief rap in the mid section. Or the way the background singers chant “Oh baby don’t you weep”. Great help from the solo trombone as well.
